navisa relay

Navisa Relay

The handoff, built in.

A directory tells an applicant a name. Navisa Relay matches them to a licensed RCIC or lawyer by province, language, and program — then hands over the organized case file, instantly, the moment a firm accepts. Nothing re-typed. Nothing hidden.

Why nothing else works like this

A directory, a percentage fee, or Navisa Relay

Every real alternative a firm already knows about falls into one of two shapes. Neither does what Navisa Relay does, and the reason is structural, not marketing.

Static directories

TrustImmi.ca (6,500+ RCICs, sourced from the CICC registry), RateMyRCIC.ca (16,000+ RCICs, client reviews)

A searchable list. An applicant finds a name, sees a license status or a rating, and reaches out cold.

No matching to an applicant's actual case, no organized file, no pipeline — a firm has to already be findable to get anything from it.

Fee-per-transaction marketplaces

Goodlawyer.ca

A marketplace of independent lawyers, matched to clients, charging 25% of the legal fee (20% of the subtotal) on custom-quoted work — a fee tied to the transaction's value.

Navisa Relay charges nothing for the introduction itself. What a firm is billed is the same flat per-case rate as any other case in its workspace, whether it arrived through Relay or not — never a percentage of the fee, never contingent on the case's value.

Section 13 of the Code of Professional Conduct for CICC Licensees bans paying, or being paid, for a referral or recommendation. A flat rate charged identically regardless of source isn't that structure — there is, literally, zero marketplace-specific billing code in Navisa; a case from Relay is charged through the exact same activation-billing path as a case from anywhere else. A compliant, zero-commission matching engine is real engineering a directory never had to build. And a warm, pre-organized pipeline requires owning the applicant funnel upstream — Navisa Prep tracks 38 Canadian immigration pathways across 25 published program guides — which a standalone directory has no path to.

How Navisa Relay works

One organized file. One clear decision. No cold start.

Browse, ranked by fit

An applicant browses licensed professionals ranked by fit — province, language, program stream, and responsiveness.

Two-phase consent

They choose one and grant two-phase consent: what’s shared now (name, program interest, readiness signals) is not what’s shared if accepted (full documents, intake, contact).

Instant, or nothing

Accept, and the complete case transfers instantly. Decline or let it expire, and it costs nothing — the applicant simply chooses someone else.

How NavisaMatch actually works

Not a lead list. A scored match, rebuilt on real signal every time.

Three weighted stages decide who an applicant sees first — every weight and threshold below is the real, shipped configuration, not a simplified summary.

Fit · 55%

Program stream (exact match, or a partial score for the same program family), province (exact, or a partial score for firms serving nationwide), and language (exact, or a baseline score for English) — plus a log-saturating curve on relevant case experience, so a firm needs real, relevant experience, not hundreds of cases, to score well.

Quality · 30%

Response time against a 48-hour service benchmark, and accept rate — both statistically smoothed specifically so one slow week or one early decline can't tank a new firm's score. A firm under 3 leads received gets a neutral starting score instead of being penalized for having no track record yet.

Exposure · 15%

A firm with fewer than 5 total leads received gets full exposure weight — the same weight an established firm earns over time — so a new profile isn't buried under firms with a longer history. A weekly cap keeps any one firm from crowding out every result.

Within a scoring band, order rotates on a fixed daily schedule — not randomly, and not for sale. There is no way to pay for a better position.

For applicants

If your case needs a license, not just software

Navisa Prep organizes your case yourself. Some situations call for more — a prior refusal, an inadmissibility concern, a complex sponsorship. Navisa Relay is how you find someone licensed to take it from here, without starting over.

Filtered to you

Province, language, and program stream, pulled from what you’ve already told Prep.

Nothing shared without you

Two-phase consent: your name and case summary move first; full documents and contact only if a firm accepts.

Nothing re-typed

Your organized file — documents, facts, decisions — transfers with your request.

Verify it yourself

Every listed license links to the official CICC or law-society register. Navisa doesn’t vet or endorse anyone on this list.

For RCICs and firms

Free leads, pre-organized, zero commission

Every Prep applicant who decides they need representation is a real, warm lead — not a cold call. Accept one, and the case arrives already organized: intake, documents, and history, ready to work.

Zero commission, always

Leads cost nothing to receive. What you’re billed follows Navisa’s existing per-case pricing, only once you activate a case.

Live in one screen

Declare your license, provinces, languages, and the streams you take. No approval queue — your profile is live the moment you finish.

New firms get a real boost

Matching includes a built-in newcomer weighting, so a firm that just joined isn’t buried under firms with a longer track record.

The file arrives whole

Accept, and the applicant’s complete case — intake, documents, decision history — transfers into your workspace instantly.

FAQ

Straight answers

How is this different from a directory or referral program I already know?

A directory lists names; Navisa Relay scores and matches to the actual case, then hands over an organized file the moment a firm accepts. A percentage-of-fee marketplace ties its cut to the case's value; Navisa's per-case rate is flat and identical regardless of source. See the full comparison above.

Does Navisa charge a commission on Relay leads?

No. Introductions are free — Navisa is not paid for connecting an applicant to a firm. If a firm accepts a case, it’s billed through Navisa’s standard per-case pricing, the same as any other case in that firm’s workspace, not a referral fee.

If it's free, how does Navisa make money?

The same way it does on every other case: a per-case activation charge, through the exact same billing path a case from anywhere else uses. There is no separate marketplace fee or commission layer — accepting a Relay lead is billed no differently than any other case in the workspace.

What stops this from turning into a flood of low-quality leads?

Real limits, not a promise: an applicant's case can generate at most 3 new requests per day, a firm stops receiving new leads once it has 10 open at once, and a firm that declines a request can't be re-sent the same case for 14 days.

Does Navisa vet or endorse the professionals listed?

No. Every profile shows the license the professional declared, with a link to the official CICC or law-society register so it can be verified independently. Ranking reflects fit to filters and responsiveness — not a quality judgment or an endorsement.

What happens if a firm doesn’t respond to a request?

It expires automatically within 7 days, the shared summary is deleted from the firm’s inbox, and the applicant can choose someone else. Nothing about an expired request is held against the applicant.

Can a firm see an applicant’s file before accepting?

No — only the applicant’s name, program interest, and readiness signals (estimated CRS, intake completion, document and flag counts) and a list of document types and statuses, never the files themselves. Full documents, intake answers, and contact details unlock only if the firm accepts the request.

How does the "new firm" boost actually work?

A firm with fewer than 5 total leads received gets full exposure weight in matching — the same weight an established firm earns over time — instead of being buried under firms with a longer track record. It phases out gradually, not as a cliff, once a firm passes that threshold.

Two doors, one bridge

Whichever side you’re on, Navisa Relay is the same organized handoff — nothing re-typed, nothing hidden.
