The generic note and single 5‑year-extension rule for Venezuelan passports has been replaced with detailed rules. Now, only passports issued before June 7, 2019 can be treated as valid up to 5 years past printed expiry (max 10 years total); those expired 5+ years are invalid. Passports issued on or after June 7, 2019 cannot be used once expired at all. This directly affects whether Venezuelan clients can create an Express Entry profile or must obtain a new passport or other travel document.

“Your passport or travel document is considered valid if it’s: legal, not expired, and accepted by us (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada)”
“Venezuelan passport holders with expired passports If your Venezuelan passport was issued before June 7, 2019 If your passport has been expired for less than 5 years”
When a change lands, the engine re-checks the files it affects
Navisa is an AI file-prep engine for Canadian immigration firms. It reads the documents on a file, cross-checks them, runs the eligibility analysis against retrieved official sources, and flags what an officer would — citations attached. It does not replace the judgment of a licensed immigration professional; a consultant reviews and approves the work.
Navisa Prep is document-preparation software for individuals — cited comparisons and options, never advice. The Navisa platform is the case engine for licensed firms.
